Listening to music increases the duration of the workout

In a new study says that listening to music during sports training can help to increase the duration.

“Our study provides some evidence that music may be an additional tool in helping to motivate people to move more, which is important for heart health,” said lead author Waseem Shami from Texas Tech University Health Sciences in the United States.

Scientists randomly divided 127 patients with heart failure into two groups. All of them underwent electrocardiogram (ECG). One group listened to music during the stress tests, and the second group did not.

The results showed that the training duration was significantly greater in the music group compared to the control group (505,8 against 455,2 seconds, respectively). The absolute difference was about 50.6 per seconds.
