The government of Japan has decided to join the National management of the USA on Aeronautics and space research (NASA) for exploration of the moon, which involves landing on Earth until 2024.

It is reported online edition of the Chronicle.info with reference to the UNN.

“We decided to participate in the program as allies and having them strong ties” — quoted by Japanese public television the words of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. According to the head of the Japanese government, his country “will contribute to the expansion of the frontiers of humanity.”

In the spring NASA announced that the new exploration program of the moon called Artemis. It will consist of three stages: the first one (Artemis 1), which provides unmanned flight of the SLS is installed on the Orion spacecraft around the moon and return to Earth, scheduled for the second half of 2020.

The second stage (Artemis 2) — flyby of Earth’s natural satellite with the crew on Board is scheduled for 2022. In the third phase (Artemis 3) NASA expects to carry out the landing of astronauts on the moon in 2024.
