Итальянский вице-премьер обещает "сделать все" для отмены санкций ЕС против РФSalvini believes the annexation of Crimea legitimate.

Vice-Prime Minister of Italy Salvini said that “will do everything” to cancel the EU sanctions against Russia, or, at least, to resist attempts to automatically update them every six months. During a visit to Moscow, Salvini said that the EU has applied sanctions against Russia for “possible violations against Ukraine” without taking any measures due to the occupation by Turkey of Northern Cyprus “European countries” – since 1974.

“I came here because I am convinced that sanctions are the economic, social and cultural madness,” he said.

Earlier media reported that Italy has opposed the proposal of the EU to impose new sanctions against Russia for the organization of cyber attacks.

Eurosceptic Salvini is known for his Pro-Russian stance. In July, during a visit to Moscow, he called for the abolition of the EU sanctions against Russia by the end of the year. He assured that he would use all possible means to convince European partners to lift the sanctions imposed in 2014 due to the annexation of Crimea and Russian aggression in Eastern Ukraine, for example, the right of veto.

He also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “one of the best” politicians.

In addition, Salvini called the revolution of Dignity in Ukraine a “fake” and the annexation of Crimea in 2014 “legal”.
