Стало известно, на каком языке общаются астронавты на МКС NASA astronaut told in what language to communicate to the ISS

On the International space station (ISS) there is no language barrier, the crew members speak REnglish – a mixture of Russian and English – and I consider it an advantage, said Friday during a videoconference with the students of new York school of the orbiting NASA astronaut Serena Aunon-Chancellor.

“It’s funny, but we do not believe that language is a barrier up here (in orbit). We all go through learning Russian and the Russian cosmonauts are trained in English, and we move from one language to another and back,” said a member of the ISS crew.

Asked about what linguistic difficulties arise from the international space station crew. “If you ask most astronauts, we don’t consider language a barrier, rather, it makes our life here is (ISS) is fun” – said the astronaut. American is on the ISS, together with the German astronaut Alexander Gershom and Russian Sergey Prokopyeva.

“Very often I speak to Sergei in Russian, he responds in English, sometimes our offers shuffle, something like English (REnglish) if you want to,” said Auron.

“We see this as an advantage, because sometimes the words in the Russian language better than English, and we choose them. It’s very interesting and gives us more opportunities to talk with partners about important things such as family, relatives back home,” he shared with the audience NASA astronaut.
