В Йеллоустоне нашли "инопланетного" паразитаMicro-organisms parasitic on crenarchaeota of the genus Acidilobus.

American microbiologists discovered in Yellowstone national Park (USA) a previously unknown and isolated from other organisms, the microbes, which researchers compared with alien.

Devoted to a study published in the journal Nature Communications.

Experts have discovered a new species of nanoarchaeota Nanopusillus acidilobi. In the size of the germ reaches 100-300 nanometers and is one of the smallest known to man unicellular organisms. Nanopusillus acidilobi parasite on its host — crenarchaeota of the genus Acidilobus, which he takes necessary for primary metabolism of biomolecules.

This type of coexistence of organisms, according to microbiologists, is an adaptation to life in extreme and aggressive for most organisms on the planet conditions — terrestrial geothermal springs of Yellowstone national Park.

Nanopusillus acidilobi was opened for the cultivation of Acidilobus with the previously obtained information about the molecular and structural features nanoarchaeota. Scientists have noted the similarity between the ground Nanopusillus acidilobi and their distant relatives — nanoarchaeota Nanoarchaeum equitans living in sea water and grown for the first time over ten years ago.

Nanoarchaeota are the only type of parasitic archaea. Currently, (along with discovered microbe) in this group of organisms includes three types: Nanoarchaeum equitans (discovered in 2002 in hot springs, Mid-Atlantic ridge), Nanobsidianus stetteri and Nanopusillus acidilobi (live in Yellowstone). The selection of a microbe hampered its close interaction with host cells. Archaea are a group of non-nuclear-celled organisms. From bacteria, also does not have in its cage decorated nucleus is a cell structure, peculiarities of metabolism and evolutionary history.
