Deaths in the use of weapons by police in the US are captured more often than in other Western developed countries.
22 percent of victims were African American, although their share in the population of the US is only 6%. With 19 shot were unarmed (in 2016, the year was 17, unarmed, in 2015-m – 35). Last year, the cases of police violence against African Americans repeatedly led to mass protests and riots. Totally unarmed among the dead by us police was 68 (in 2016, the year 51, in 2015-m – 94).
