Recognized the Holodomor as genocide for 11 us States.
In the House of representatives of the U.S. Congress presented a resolution in which the Holodomor of 1932-1933 is recognized as genocide of the Ukrainian people. This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.
It is noted that a group of congressmen from the Democratic and Republican parties, led by co-chairs of the group of friendship with Ukraine in the House of representatives of the U.S. Congress introduced a draft resolution, devoted to 85-th anniversary of Holodomor in Ukraine.
The Embassy pointed out that the document is the mirrored version of the resolution introduced in the Senate in March of this year.
The draft resolution stresses that the events of 1932-1933 in Ukraine was a planned action of the Stalinist totalitarian regime against the Ukrainian people and genocide.
The document also condemns the systematic violations of human rights, including the right to self-determination and freedom of expression, committed by the Soviet government against the Ukrainian people.
Earlier it was reported that as a result of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 died of 3.94 million Ukrainians.
