For medicinal purposes the use of cannabis is permitted.
The Czech government will not support the legalization of the cultivation and storage of cannabis for personal use – an initiative that in the near future the Parliament should consider. This was stated by Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Andrew Babish.
“We do not intend to argue about it, this is not a good idea. We don’t want our children to have that temptation,” said Babish.
At the same time, he acknowledged that he knows of parents who have patients with multiple sclerosis children and they did not help. Babish said that the father will do anything to save their child, so some of the cannabis to grow illegally. In this regard, the Prime Minister promised to facilitate the access of patients to drugs from hemp. According to him, the Ministry of health of the Czech Republic will develop a change in the current regulations ensure that medical cannabis patients.
Medicinal cannabis legalized in the Czech Republic since April 2013. Up to a million Czechs use cannabis for medical purposes, and this number is growing.
