According to eyewitnesses, passers-by tried to extinguish the fire on the burning man with clothes, but that didn’t work, so they ran in the cafe with a fire extinguisher.

What was the cause of the act are investigated by the police.

The incident occurred near the spot where 50 years ago January 16, themselves set fire to the student Jan Palach. After three days in the hospital, he died. Palach left a letter in which he wrote that he wants to Wake Czechoslovak society with passivity.
