Unique architectural object.
Modern tourists, especially those who travel a lot, my friends talk only about sights. Hotels say little. And why? They are all similar to each other. But the hotel business does not stand still and today, more and more architects design is quite extravagant and unusual hotels. One of these private Villa Vals, which is built inside the mountain.
Villa Vals is an unusual underground house built inside a mountain in Vals. Externally, the Villa resembles the crater of a meteorite. As planned by the architects (SeARCH and CMA) it is this unusual form allows you to create a modern architectural structure, without disturbing the surrounding wildlife.
To enter the territory of the Villa is not only the front but also in the underground concrete tunnel. On the spacious stone courtyard and a beautiful terrace to relax with a natural spring, Dutch bath (wood-fired hot tub), barbecue and places for storing firewood. But the main attraction of this unusual Villa is a fabulous Alpine panorama that opens through a wide elliptical opening in the hillside.
Square two-storey Villa is 160 square meters. The first floor has kitchen, living room, library and one bedroom.
On the second − four bedrooms with private bathrooms. Also on the upper floor of the barn has a bed of hay and Alpine herbs, which can relax everyone.
The interior is decorated in modern design in the Dutch style. Sofas, tiles, dishes, vases, and lamps – all the attention to detail! And concrete walls, stairs with natural stone and oak doors even more connected by underground house with the surrounding nature.
Another very interesting feature of the house is a warm water floor. This unusual decision of the architect Christian high sensitive GAMM beta invented to save energy.
Despite the fact that most of the home is underground and three major wall – deaf, all the rooms are well-lit daytime natural light. This effect was achieved thanks to the open concave facade and big Windows. Also, thanks to this unusual shape, the Villa is completely protected from the wind.
Today the Villa serves as a hotel, a night in which costs two thousand euros.
It is noteworthy that in 2011, the Villa project Waltz won the prestigious award Wallpaper–Designpreis, for its unique architecture and design.
