In the North of Spain wishing to become space tourists “will travel” to Mars and to enjoy all the delights of life on a neighboring planet. Clad in plastic suits and diapers lovers of the cosmos will sleep in a sealed capsule that is installed in damp caves at a depth of about 1.5 km under the ground, and to perform various tasks in difficult conditions, including to grow crops without soil.
“The Martian environment is very hostile – very low temperatures, strong winds and high levels of solar radiation, which means that the most appropriate way to sustain human life under the Martian surface. These caves in Cantabria (the region of Spain – ed.) is ideal for testing in such conditions,” says David Ceballos, General Director of Astroland, which belongs to the idea to play in life on Mars.
Participants will not see natural light for a minimum of three days and will be able to make one phone call. The price of this adventure is € 10 thousand per person.
Within each group of travelers gained up to 10 people, aged 18 years. They have to register at the website and go through several interviews. Before descending with them to conduct training, leadership training, and learn to climb on the caves.
The first expedition is scheduled for June 15, 2019. By the end of the year Astroland hopes to have nine more such trips.
