Hundreds of Federal policemen in Germany carried out raids on homes of ordinary citizens in connection with the expansion of illegal networks of human trafficking.
Police are looking for the traffickers who brought people from Pakistan and India by providing them with sham marriages in Germany.
Prosecutors said that the raids began this morning. Officers searched a house in the Eastern city of Leipzig, Eilenburg and Hettstedt, and several others.
Police and prosecutors declined to give any further details about the ongoing raids.
