As a result of violent clashes on the first day of elections to the people’s (lower) house of Parliament of India two people were killed and several more were injured.
The incidents occurred in several districts of Andhra Pradesh in the South-East of the country. Near one of the polling officers of the two parties staged a fight, killing one person on each side.
According to the schedule released by the Election Commission of India, current General elections held from April 11 to may 19, seven stages, results will be published may 23.
The first stage of voting is conducted in several regions, including the States of West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, it is attended by about 142 million voters.
