The social network prohibits the advertising of crypto-currencies.
Under the new advertising policy of Facebook, the social network banned advertising binary options and cryptocurrencies.
These rules apply to other social media platforms, including Instagram, reported in the official blog Facebook.
“Two of our key advertising principles reflect our belief that advertising should be safe and should be useful for people. Misleading or deceptive ads have no place on Facebook. We have created a new policy that prohibits advertising, promoting financial products and services that are often associated with misleading or deceptive practices,” wrote Rob Coin, Facebook Director of product management.
As examples of such practices, Facebook leads “binary options, the initial placement of coins and crypto-currencies”. In particular, the social network will be no more ads like “the New ICO! Buy tokens with a 15% discount right now!”or “Use your pension savings to buy bitcoin!”.
The company added that it wants Facebook users to learn about new products and services, without fear of becoming a victim of fraud.
The user of the social network also asks users to report posts that violate the new rules and contain the advertising of “financial products and services related to misleading or deceptive technologies”.
