An international group of archaeologists found in the village of Gebel es-SILSILA in Egypt four ancient tombs, where there are presumably children of the 18th dynasty of the Egyptian pharaohs.

As scientists believe, children are not buried more than a decade. Their graves prior to the intervention of archaeologists was not damaged.

Approximate date of burial – with 1493-1401 years BC.

In some graves the researchers, among whom were those of the Egyptian Ministry of antiquities and the Swedish Lund University, also found a number of artifacts, including amulets, bracelets and ceramics.

As the researchers say, this discovery has provided scientists more information about the methods of burial during the 18th dynasty pharaohs of Egypt.

Thus, in three graves, archaeologists have discovered the remains of with amulets in the form of a scarab beetle.

Says Dr. Mustafa Vaziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of antiquities, in one of the graves contained the remains of a child aged 3 up to 3 years at the time of death. His remains found in the rocks, with pieces of plain paper and organic material from a wooden coffin. Most of this tomb was destroyed by the termites.

In the second grave, they found the remains of a child aged 6-9 years, buried with several items, including ceramic wine vessels, plates and bowls, bronze bracelets in the form of a scarab and a bronze razor. There were jewels – four bracelets in the form of a scarab attached to the left wrist.

The third grave in which was buried a child aged 5-8 years, were similar items.

According to archaeologists, the body was wrapped in a linen blanket on a reed Mat and next to three amulet in the form of a scarab.

In the fourth tomb discovered also presumably a child’s, but without the luxury items and amulets. As said archaeologists, the child was buried “without any apparent concern” and in the distortion of his skeleton found traces of injuries. Perhaps it is the burial did not even have a relationship with all three.

The researchers plan to conduct further studies of the graves, to learn more about these graves, to find out what was the health of the deceased and what is the level of well-being.

Note, for many centuries, the scarab in Ancient Egypt was the personification of the God Khepri, who symbolized the rising sun. The God RA, symbolized the Sun, and the God Atum was a symbol of the night. Khepri was depicted with the head of a scarab. Thus, Atum RA and Khepri represented the three persons of the one light.

In January 2017 in Egypt Swedish archaeologists have unearthed 12 old burials of the New Kingdom (1550-1069 year BC). The tombs found in the village of Gebel El-SILSILA, located a few kilometers South of the Valley of the Kings.
