Scientists told about an unusual discovery hard to find a mummy – it’s like winning the lottery.

Exposure with unusual fossil opened at the Museum may 12, 2017. At the opening of the scientists said that the unusual fossil was discovered on March 21, 2011 in the canadian province of Alberta. In one of the local mines were found the remains of a dinosaur that weighed more than 1130 kg.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes – it was a dinosaur. When we first saw a find, we were convinced that we will have the plesiosaurus because it is more common marine reptile. However, it turned out that this nodosaur – heavy herbivore that walked on four legs,” notes Donald Henderson, curator of dinosaurs at the Museum of the province of Alberta.

Scientists call this dinosaur a “cross between a lizard and a lion, but covered in scales”. Another paleontologist, Michael greshko, wrote for National Geographic that are so well-preserved fossil “is as rare as winning the lottery.”

The reason why the dinosaur is so well preserved, scientists call it sudden drop from the shore to the bottom. Sea minerals very quickly got into the animal’s body and mummified it.
