The company Xiaomi is working on a smartphone codenamed Cereus, which a few hours ago appeared in the database benchmark Geekbench. The device immediately raises a number of questions, in particular why he wants a platform from MediaTek instead of time-tested solutions from Qualcomm.

As it became known, the yet unannounced Xiaomi Cereus is built on the basis MT6765 CPU MediaTek with a frequency of 2 GHz eight cores. The smartphone has 3 GB of RAM, IOS 8.1 Oreo Android from Google and, in fact, so far all the other components are not advertised, but it is already clear that we will have a mainstream machine, a lot of which require undesirable.

Assumptions about what a cell phone is hiding under the name Xiaomi Cereus, quite a lot: earlier it was supposed that it Mi 6X or his twin on pure Android Mi A2, but these gadgets will obviously get more advanced filling. Another option is Redmi 6A, but it is hard to believe, as the current Redmi 5A came out less than six months ago. The most plausible version is: Xiaomi ready to replace the 4X Redmi smartphone, which was released for quite some time. On the other hand, it is still quite relevant phone for the money, so Xiaomi Cereus – it’s a mystery.
