In Brazil, escape from prison at least 200 prisoners
In the municipality of Jardinopolis, state of Sao Paulo, the escape happened after a mass uprising of prisoners: they set fire to mattresses, burst a four metre mesh fence and ran away.
The guards opened fire and looking for the escapees in the surrounding municipalities. Several people were caught on the road, and one prisoner was killed while trying to escape.
The prisoners rebelled because of overcrowding in prisons, which was 800 more than necessary.
