ФИБА отстранила сборные восьми стран от Евробаскета-2017

International basketball Federation (FIBA) suspended from participation in the European championship 2017 teams from eight countries, including Russia, and demanded from the others proof that they do not have agreements with the Euroleague. About it reports on Saturday, April 16, “R-Sport” with reference to own source in the press service of FIBA.

Earlier, the President of the Russian basketball Federation (RBF), Andrei Kirilenko said that FIBA and Euroleague needs to sort things out between themselves and not to involve in the conflict the national Federation. According to him, the critical situation should all move towards each other. “But today, as I’m looking to meet no one’s coming,” he said.

Sunday, April 17, in Switzerland the head of the Russian basketball Federation will discuss the situation with FIBA Secretary General Patrick Baumann.

On Saturday there was information that from the Eurobasket-2017 removed the national teams of Russia and 13 other countries. The reason was the existence of the agreement on the participation of the countries clubs in tournaments under the auspices of the Euroleague.

In March, FIBA sent to all European national federations letter, which warned of possible disqualification of those teams of those countries whose clubs will support the Euroleague.
