All the work of this photographer is imbued with a great love for Tasmania, its wild rivers, steep mountains and lush vegetation.

Peter Dombrovskis (Peter Dombrovskis) – Australian photographer of Latvian origin. Born in 1945 in a refugee camp in Wiesbaden, and in 1950 mother emigrated from Germany to Australia in the 1960-ies started taking pictures. A strong influence on him conservationist and photographer Olegas Truchanas, as well as works by Ansel Adams, Eliot porter, Edward and Brett Weston. But the main driving force was love for the Tasmanian nature.

Peter Dombrovskis was shot on a large format camera, umeschayas in the frame and grandiose elements, and the smallest details of landscapes. His image used for the release of the best publications of its time, including calendars and diaries, books, posters and cards.

Dombrovskis is the first Australian photographer, presented in the International hall of fame of photography (the International Photography Hall of Fame; USA) among the 58 other masters. His works are kept in national galleries in Australia, USA and UK, as well as in private collections. Some of the photos Peter has played an important role in the conservation of Tasmanian wildlife.
