A new study found that smokers began to smoke less and increased attempts to quit Smoking after they started using electronic cigarette.
“Conventional cigarette is the most dangerous form of nicotine delivery. Alternative delivery of nicotine through e-cigarettes can significantly reduce the risk of cancer and other diseases in smokers,” said Matthew Carpenter from the Medical University of South Carolina ( MUSC) in the United States.
The study involved 68 smokers, 46 of them had used electronic cigarettes and 22 entered the control group.
Participants who used e-cigarettes have received high or low doses of nicotine. The observation period was 4 months.
The results of the study showed that when smokers used the electronic cigarette without any accompanying instructions during the study, they continued to use them after the end of the study.
This suggests that e-cigarettes could become a suitable alternative to traditional cigarettes.
Scientists have discovered that smokers who used electronic cigarettes, smoked less and more often quit Smoking compared to participants in the control group.
The study was published in the journal “Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention”.
