Ukrainian tennis player Alexander Dolgopolov won the first match on hard courts in Sydney tournament of series ATP-250 with a prize Fund of $528,910.
“Apia International Sydney” Dolgopolov started the match against the 55th-ranked Viktor Troicki. In personal meetings the Ukrainian was defeated with the score 2:3.
At the start of the match, Dolgopolov lost his serve, but quickly compensated for the loss of two breaks. During the second set the Ukrainian was leading 5:3, however, the second time in the season could not submit to the match. He caught his chance and failed on the tie-break to level the score.
In the final set, Dolgopolov was lost with the break 2:3, but instantly returned his serve. With the score 6:5 Ukrainian managed to hold on for filing and Troicki finished the match at the reception.
Next opponent Alexander Dolgopolov in Sydney will be the experienced Italian Fabio Fognini, seeded on tournament at the fourth number.
