“The time has come to part with the sport. Like a real man, husband and father, I must focus on my large family and try as much as possible attention to its most native people. But life does not stand still, and together with you we will do big and small good things for his country, for our youth,” wrote boxer.
In the asset Lebedev, who in August will be 40 years old, 32 wins (23 by knockout) and two defeats. His last fight he had in November last year, having won the Monaco American Mike Wilson decision.
In February 2018, the Russian was transferred to the status of champion WBA in holiday because of refusal to participate in the world Boxing series (WBSS). The belt of WBA super champion went to the winner of WBSS Ukrainian Alexander Usik, but then went back to Lebedev when the Tendril rose in a heavy weight.
Lebedev finally parted with the title at the end of June after refusing to fight against the “regular” champion Frenchman Arsen Galamian.
Lebedev will develop into a political career
The Denis Lebedev Manager Vadim Kornilov said that now his client will take the policy.
“He will develop into a political career. But also Denis remains a part of our team, he will support Boxing and all sports”, – quotes TASS of Kornilov.
“Long way to go and long discussed the completion of a career. The last battle, which was important for Denis, it’s a fight against Oleksandr Usyk. As it was not held, it so happened that it was time to finish my career,” he added.
