Chevrolet has prepared for the U.S. army’s new concept pickup truck on hydrogen fuel cells. Also in development participated research center TARDEC, which specializiruetsya on designing vehicles for the U.S. army.
The novelty is called ZH2 and Colorado based on the Colorado pickup truck with a stretched wheelbase. Testing new products the military needs to start next year. Designers almost completely redid the exterior of Colorado.
The car received a reinforced suspension and 37-inch wheels. Despite the size, the car moves almost silently thanks to the hydrogen elements.
Previously, Chevrolet showed a concept off-road modification of the pickup truck Colorado. The novelty is called ZR2 and adapted specifically for off-road driving. To do this, the company’s engineers have equipped the new special plates to protect the underbody, electronic locking front and rear differentials and increased ground clearance. In addition, the concept has received a revised grille, aluminum tow hooks, integrated winch, and 18-inch aluminum wheels.
Under the hood all-wheel drive truck is installed a 2.8-liter Duramax diesel engine. Motor power is 181 HP and 500 Nm of torque. The engine works together with a six-speed automatic transmission.
