The Ambassador of Russia in Bulgaria was handed a note about the announcement of two Russian diplomats persona non grata. It is reported by the Russian Embassy on the page in Facebook.

“No evidence to support their implementation of activities incompatible with their status, was not presented,” — said the Embassy.

The Embassy said that the Russian side reserves the right to take action in response to the expulsion of diplomats.

“We believe the decision of the Bulgarian authorities to disseminate this information in a public space prior to the official notification the Embassy is not appropriate traditionally constructive spirit of relations between our States”, — concluded the diplomatic mission.

The period in which the Russian diplomats should leave Bulgaria, not specified.

Earlier today the Prosecutor’s office of Bulgaria announced on its website on initiated pre-trial investigations in respect of two Russian diplomats on charges of espionage. At the request of prosecutors, the scope of their illegal activities was the election and the energy sector. In accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations of criminal proceedings against two Russian citizens are stopped, and the Prosecutor’s office claims, that there are grounds to attract them as defendants.

Eve also broke another scandal: three Russians accused of trying to poison a Bulgarian businessman, his son and another man, allegedly by poison “Beginner”. The statement of the Prosecutor’s office of Bulgaria stated that they are declared in the international search.
