Reportedly, one of the organizers of the rebellion, major Celebioglu, created in the WhatsApp messenger special group, which he called “Yurtta sulh” (Peace at home), using the well-known expression of Turkey’s first President Mustafa Ataturk “Peace at home, peace in the world”.

He later added to the group a number of people who shared, messengers messages, and the major passed on the information to the headquarters of the rebels in Ankara. Thus, the group included high-ranking military officials, mainly of Turkish land forces, including two Brigadier and five colonels.

According to experts, the rebellion was attended by five regiments of the military, at least three of which were part of the body of NATO.

The messages often requested air support, including the proposal to strike on the Bosphorus bridge.

Some members of the rebel group was added to the address book of the phone that Bellingcat got these talks. In most cases, there are names and rank, others will sooner or later also can be identified by data that is in the network.

Thus, experts have compiled a list of senior military officers who attempted a coup.

Negotiations with the rebels it becomes clear that they planned to seize from a large number of locations in Turkey. Among them, the Bosphorus bridge, Taksim square, international airports, headquarters of the police in Istanbul, the Istanbul stock exchange, Turkish radio and TV and the like.
