Astronomers using the Very large telescope got the dwarf galaxy in the constellation of Phoenix, which is called “the Dwarf of the Phoenix”. As reported on the website of the European southern Observatory, the cluster is unique in that is not embedded in the usual scheme of classification of dwarf galaxies.

In form it fits the definition of dwarf spheroidal galaxies, which is not enough gas to form new stars. However, studies have shown that near this galaxy is associated with the gas cloud, indicating ongoing star formation and young stellar population.

The gas cloud does not lie inside the galaxy, but the gravity associated with it, and it means that after some time it will inevitably return to the galaxy. Because the cloud is located in the vicinity of the galaxy, it is highly likely that the process, in which the cloud has been thrown out of galaxy still continues. Having studied the form of gas clouds, astronomers came to the conclusion that the most likely cause of his ejection from the galaxy are supernova explosions in it.
