Astronomers call the black planet

Астрономы назвали самую черную планетуThe most famous scientists of hot Jupiters absorb about 40% of the world.

Astronomers discovered in the constellation of Leo, the planet that absorbs 97 to 99% of the light reaching it from the star WASP-104, yellow dwarf, very similar to the Sun. As reported by Popular mechanics, the mass of the planet, called WASP-104b, comparable to the mass of Jupiter, but its temperature is much higher than that of a gas giant in the Solar system.

The most famous scientists of hot Jupiters absorb about 40% of the light that reaches them. WASP-104b do not like them: it absorbs almost all the light falling on it from 97% to 99%, making it one of the darkest known planet.

“Of all the dark planets, described by astronomers, this is one of the darkest, it is in the top five, maybe, and list the three most black,” said astrophysicist Theo Mocnik.

According to scientists, the cause of the black planet could be that it is very close to its parent star that a year on it lasts for around 1.75 earth days. Always deployed to star day side of the planet so hot that the gas is not condenseries in the upper layers of the atmosphere, and clouds are formed — namely cloud, as the example of Venus, usually reflect most of the light. Some celestial bodies — for example, Enceladus and Europe — reflect the incident light by the ice, but the ice, like clouds, can not exist on the hot Jupiter.

Instead of clouds WASP-104b, it is likely shrouded in a dense atmosphere, consisting of a lot of sodium and potassium, which absorb electromagnetic radiation in the visible spectrum; therefore, scientists believe, is the day side of the planet reflects very little light.
