Asia Fruit Logistica to arrive in Bangkok in 2022

Asia Fruit Logistica will move from its traditional Hong Kong location to Bangkok for the 2022 edition and will take place on 2-4 November 2022 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC).

The first edition of Asia Fruit Logistica took place at this world-class Exhibition Centre in Bangkok in 2007. The modern facility has recently undergone an upgrade that has cost many millions of dollars, making the space five times larger and adding advanced technology and services. According to the organisation, this makes QSNCC ‘the ideal location as Asia’s number one international trade fair for fruit and vegetables’, which will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2022.

The move to Bangkok this year is not permanent: Thailand is the best place in Asia this year to host an in-person Asia Fruit Logistica due to the strict Covid travel restrictions that remain in place in Hong Kong and China.

“Asian fruit and vegetable operators are desperate to meet in person again, and by hosting Asia Fruit Logistica in Bangkok this year, we can host a physical Fair,” says David Axiotis, executive director of Asia Fruit Logistica.

“The global fruit and vegetable sector can meet face-to-face again in Asia during Asia Fruit Logistica in November 2022. This is a unique opportunity to reconnect with the market and to develop new business with new contacts at the top level.

Asia Fruit Logistica 2022, as always, will be held alongside the Asiafruit Congress, the place of choice to get the best information on every aspect of the fruit and vegetable sector in Asia,” added Axiotis.

Quarantine-free access

Thailand resumed its Test and Go program for fully vaccinated travelers on February 1, 2022. This means that international visitors can easily and comfortably attend Asia Fruit Logistica.

Under the current Test and Go program, fully vaccinated travelers from any country in the world can travel by air and are exempt from quarantine: they must take a Covid-19 test upon arrival at a government-approved (SHA+) hotel on Day 1 [or on their arrival date]. Travelers are free to go if they get a negative result and do an ATK self-test on Day 5 and report the test result according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health.

“We are very excited to bring Asia Fruit Logistica back to Bangkok,” Axiotis said. “It is one of the most dynamic and vibrant cities in Asia and it has a proven track record in facilitating high quality international events. And it is also the place where we started Asia Fruit Logistica in 2007.”

“Thailand is well located in Southeast Asia and has excellent global and regional connectivity for international visitors through Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. And we all know that Thailand is a great place to visit.”
