Scientists discovered in Saudi Arabia stone tools associated with ancient human ancestors.

Items similar to those that were made by early humans 1.5 million years ago, was dated to 190,000 years.

This means that the items in the “style” of the early Paleolithic continued to do in the Arabian Peninsula in the area of Suffoca even when there appeared the first modern people with completely different guns.

More than 1.5 million years ago, early humans were making stone hand tools in the style known as the Acheulian culture. This is the longest tradition of making stone tools. New research conducted by the Institute for science and human history, max Planck and the Saudi Commission for tourism and national heritage, documented the presence of representatives of Acheulian culture in the Arabian Peninsula at least 190 000 years ago, indicating that the Arab Ashely ended about that time as the earliest Homo sapiens appeared in the region.

These are unexpectedly recent dates for the region in which were found some of the oldest examples of this technology outside Africa. For example, documents the Levant indicate the presence of the ancient Acheulean 1.5 million years ago. On the other hand, in the area of Suffoca presents the young tools of the Acheulean culture in South-Western Asia.

More than 500 stone tools, including hand tools and other artifacts, known as flakes, were recovered during the excavation. Some of the splinters of stone was so fresh that scientists were able to recover the stones from which they were separated. These and other artifacts reveal that early humans made stone tools at this site.

It is unclear what specific hominids made those stone tools. However, in this region was discovered the remains of Homo erectus, which scientists considered a direct ancestor of modern humans.
