The first intelligent column from Apple will be on sale on 9 February.
On this day it will be available in the US, UK and Australia.
The first smart company column originally was supposed to go on sale before the end of 2017, but in the middle of December the release date was postponed. This meant that Apple missed the holiday season, when it was sold millions of these devices. Reporters noted that a price of $349 speaker from Apple is not a competitor of the speakers from Amazon and Google. HomePod is positioned more as a competitor wireless speaker systems high class, such as Sonos, than as a rival cheap smart speakers.
Despite the delay, Apple did not make any changes to the design and specifications of its smart speaker. The device looks exactly the same as during the announcement during the exhibition WWDC 2017.
Column height 17.2 cm equipped with a subwoofer, seven high frequency speakers and six microphones. In the future HomePod can be combined with another of the same column for stereo. Column automatically identifies its location in the premises and in accordance with the received data optimizes the sound.
Using Siri you can dictate messages, manage devices “smart” house HomeKit, set reminders and timers, check the news and weather, as well as create and edit notes.
Initially, HomePod will be available in two colors — white and space grey. The company promises that iPhone owners will be able to use the speaker as a speakerphone. Pre-orders for the smart column will be in next Friday – the 26th of January. The actual Apple HomePod will start from February 9. On this day it will be available in the US, UK and Australia. Spring also scheduled for release in France and Germany.
