Apple will close all stores outside of China until March 27 due to the new corona virus. Tim Cook, the chairman of the tech company, announced this on the website on Saturday. With this measure, the iPhone manufacturer wants to prevent the spread of the virus, which has already killed more than 5000 people worldwide.

Cook addresses the “Apple family” in a statement. “The worldwide spread of COVID-19 has implications for each of us,” he writes.

“We will close all our stores outside of Greater China until March 27. We are committed to providing exceptional service to our customers.”

People can simply go online for support and service.

Apple employees are asked to work from home as much as possible. Health examinations are carried out at the group’s offices. Exactly what they contain has not been disclosed. The rules of leave have also been relaxed, including for employees with family members who are ill.
