Afghanistan: a powerful bomb exploded near the Consulate of Germany

At least two people were killed and 60 injured in the powerful blast near the Consulate of Germany in Mazar-I-Sharif in Northern Afghanistan.

The explosion occurred on the evening of 11 November. It was undermined by two car bombs.

NATO forces plan to evacuate the personnel of the Consulate, fearing further attacks.

According to the Afghan police, the attack was made by fighters of the Taliban.

According to the Agency DPA, the extremists said the attack was revenge for an airstrike by U.S. forces in the Northern Afghan province of Kunduz, which a week ago killed more than 30 civilians.
