Former detective of the Petersburg police Andrey Artemyev has served his sentence for the deaths of St Petersburg in the police Department. The interior Ministry release also should be pleased, given by the mother of the deceased filed a lawsuit for 1.5 million

As it became known “Fontanka” 23 Jan, Artemyev after the entry into force of the sentence in the case of the shot in the 26th division Krasnogvardejskiy Ministry of internal Affairs was transferred to penal colony № 5 in the city of Kirovo-Chepetsk in Kirov region. It is designed for one and a half thousand people and is designed to house convicted law enforcement officers. According to “Fontanka”, Artemiev was taken to Kirov oblast on 3 June 2017. In prison, he spent less than three months and on August 19 was released.

By January 2018 the need for contacts with the convicts appeared at the Ministry of internal Affairs and, probably, the Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow. The mother of the deceased Natalia Zvereva turned to sue the Agency for compensation for moral damages in the amount of 1.5 million rubles. As can be seen from her statements, the employer allowed a situation in which a drunken employee who had significant problems with alcohol, 11 November 2015 went on duty, got his gun, brought into service, the Cabinet of St Petersburg, Dmitry Demidov and shot him in the head. SK Artemyev accused in the murder (article 105 of the criminal code), Krasnogvardeisky court reclassified the episode for causing death by negligence (article 109 of the criminal code) and sentenced operative to 1 year and 9 months in prison.

If MIA loses to the mother, it can recover the amount from Artemyev’s right of recourse.
