A court in Pakistan overturned the death sentence of Musharraf


The court found unconstitutional the establishment of a special Commission, which sentenced the former head of state to death.

In Pakistan, the Lahore High court declared illegal the creation of a special panel for the trial of the former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf and, quashed it a death sentence. On Monday, January 13, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.

As reported, on December 17 the Special court of Pakistan Musharraf sentenced to death on charges of treason.

Recall that the charges against the ex-President of Pakistan associated with the suspension action of the Constitution and imposition of emergency rule in 2007. General Musharraf was President from 2001 to 2008.

Later Musharraf has filed an appeal against the verdict in the case of high treason in the High court of Lahore.
