48-year-old filmmaker on the set killed the giraffe

Carlos Carvalho suffered serious injuries from the kick of a giraffe.

In South Africa, on 48-m to year of life died a famous film Director Carlos Carvalho, reports the Chronicle.Info with reference to 112.

According to the report, the man died during the filming of the movie.

As specified, Carvalho filmed closeup animals at one of the local game farms, where tourists come to spot wildlife. At some point he was approached by a giraffe named Gerald, and struck with such force that the Director to be rejected on some metres.

The victim was immediately taken to the hospital of Johannesburg, however, some time later he died from the head wounds.

Notably, the owners of the farm where the shooting took place, insist that the giraffe is not guilty in the death of the filmmaker. According to them, Carvalho did not comply with safety rules.

South African filmmaker Carlos Carvalho started his career in 1992 and became widely known thanks to the paintings of wildlife. In particular, in 2003 he was awarded a special prize at the Cannes international film festival, and in 2014 the film Director was awarded an African Academy award for his film “the Forgotten Kingdom”.
