Set a new record drive electric vehicle without recharging. Bus Catalyst E2 Max from the company Proterra, driven by electric motors, overcame 1100,1 miles (1772,21 km) without the additional power of batteries.

The previous record, recorded six years ago, belongs to electrocare Schluckspecht-E, the ultimate reserve which in the course of testing amounted to nearly 1014 miles. However, this machine weighs 46 times less than the Catalyst E2 Max, reports the International Business Times, citing commercial Director Proterra Matt Horton (Matt Horton).

It should be noted that Catalyst E2 Max set a record without finding passengers in the cabin and at a constant speed of about 24 km/h Thus, the car drove for about 74 hours. Record the duration of the trip Schluckspecht-E was 36 hours.

With a full passenger load and driving in urban conditions, the power reserve of Catalyst E2 Max is 350 miles (563 km), which is too bad, given the huge weight (18 tons) and high altitude (over three meters) of the vehicle. The bus is equipped with a battery capacity of 660 kilowatt-hour.

In 2016, Proterra sold 190 electric buses and in 2017 plans to implement “much more”.
